TESTIMONIALS FROM PREVIOUS CHARIOTS OF FUR PARTICIPANTS:
Keith Brantly - 1996 Olympian, Marathon
competing on a national level for over 20 years, not many races get me too
motivated anymore, but I always look forward to the Chariots of Fur. My wife,
Kim, and I have two Jack Russells (Chase and Scout), so having the chance for
all of us to run in an organized, fun-filled, dog-friendly event is a lot of
fun for us. Our dogs love it even more! More importantly, St. Francis Animal
Hospital does a lot of good work within the community to help those who
couldn't otherwise afford top-notch veterinary care.”
Kim Pawelek Brantly (THE race authority in Jacksonville)
“The Chariots of Fur still remains one of my
favorite races of all time! And I've run hundreds of races throughout the
years! It's a chance to bring Chase and Scout (my Jack Russells) to an event
where they can run, play and sniff out the competition. Besides, the race
packets, food/drinks and post-race awards for the Chariots of Fur are much
better than most of the human-only races. We absolutely love the hand-made dog
bowls! Such a fabulous event for the entire family! Cannot wait for next year's
Francisco Fuentes & Lupe, 1st Place Overall, 2014 Chariots of Fur 5K
“Me and my dog ‘Lupe’, a smooth coat Border Collie, used to spend hours running or hiking in the woods and hills, or herding cows and sheep in the countryside of Chile. Since arriving in the U.S. in 2013 we were happy to find the Chariots of Fur. As an active runner, what would be better than a run with my best partner! Even with the cold rain, the environment was very warm: friendly people sharing the same love for our pets. The happiness of masters and puppies was amazing, running or walking, everybody was having fun. Despite the rain, there was only one thing in common: happy faces and much wet fur! We appreciated the good vibes and the fantastic experience, we expect to come back again in 2015.”
Julie Stackhouse & Sasha, 1st Place Woman Finisher, 2014 Chariots of Fur 5K:
“Sasha is 7 years young and she is a golden retriever mix rescue dog. She loves to run and is especially competitive! I'm not really sure where she gets that from but she is a great companion for me and my running buddy! We both thoroughly enjoyed the race and such a unique event for a great cause. We will definitely be back next year! Despite the rainy weather it was really an amazing and fun day and very well organized! Thank you again for hosting us! Furry friends at the beach and a fun 5k run with spectacular prizes! What could be better?”
SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS!
